Crane Scale Calibration

Crane scale calibration is a process that ensures the accurate reading and performance of a crane scale. This is a critical task because crane scales are essential for a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, and transportation, where accurate load measurements are required for safety and operational efficiency.

The process of crane scale calibration includes several steps:

Inspection: The crane scale is inspected for any visible signs of damage or wear and tear that may affect its performance. Any damaged components are replaced as necessary.

Preparation: The crane scale is prepared for calibration by ensuring it is clean and free of any debris or contaminants that may interfere with the calibration process.

Load Application: A known load is applied to the scale using a specialist force calibration rig.

Adjustment: If required, the crane scale is adjusted to match the output of the reference instrument. This may involve adjusting the crane scale's internal components or the digital settings.

Re-measurement: The calibration is run again in full, and the after-adjustment readings are recorded.

Calibration Certificate: A calibration certificate is issued to document the calibration process and results, including the crane scale's accuracy, repeatability, and traceability to national or international standards.

If the crane scale fails its calibration test, it can be adjusted or repaired with the customer's authorisation.

AML Instruments can calibrate and repair all brands of crane scales.
